I can definitely say I am guilty of being a Tim Horton's consumer. I always used to think that the Tim Horton's cup was recyclable. However, when I found out that the cup was not recyclable it made me question as to why it is not.
Through this learning process I have learned that the producers are the first to blame. They have created this paper cup which cannot be disposed anywhere. However, we, as consumers can make a change. If we make it our habit to only purchase coffee in reusable mugs we can collectively help sustain our environment.
The plastic bag ban has made me think twice about getting a plastic bag or not. I'm sure this is true for many individuals. Maybe this idea could be implemented into Tim Horton's restaurants. This kind of policy will need to be changed by the government. However, it is going to take action from the consumer side to make this change.
We can do it!
